The midsummer night screams film festival is a film festival by filmmakers.
in 2021, we, the gung ho guerillaz! piled our money together and made our first feature film, oscar. tango. hellwater. We shot in blackwater, Missouri over 10 days.
And then ... we started thinking.
What are other filmmakers in our shoes doing? The "gritty, shoot in your moms garage, use watered down ketchup as blood" filmmakers?
How many times have you heard the word "political" thrown into the context of film festivals? how many times have you heard that you need a name actor to be considered? Not here baby! ... come as you are!
we are gung ho independent filmmakers and we want to meet and party and watch and talk about movies with other gung ho independent filmmakers. aaaaannnnnd.... we have cash prizes!
we'll have movies, that's for sure. but we'll also have food & drinks, live bands, food trucks, filmmaker talks.
